The manufacturing techniques supports various kinds of plant fiber ranging from coffee grounds, palm fiber, coconut fiber, to name a few. Bamboo was selected due to its sustainability. Bamboo’s maturity is reached in only 3 years. With 185 thousand hectares of bamboo forest in Taiwan and needing only 11 thousand hectares of bamboo forest to supply 600 billion straw usage in the entire world annually, the burden on the natural resource is minimal.
The popular alternative, paper straws cause a massive amount of water pollution and produces poisonous chemicals during the manufacturing process. “Dry processing and forming” is a one-of-a-kind technique from our manufacturer that not only does not require chemicals, the process does not produce any water pollution. The temperatures used to produce straws are controlled under 200º C to effectively ensure low carbon emission.
Paper straws turn soggy and dissolves easily in water. Many alternative straws use plastic film to prolong its durability. Our Natural Bamboo Fiber Straws are able to last more than 24 hours and is resistant to temperatures of -20ºC to 100ºC.
Our bamboo fiber straws decomposes in water and natural environments. The straw does not produce any toxic gas during waste incineration. When disposed of in landfills or buried the straw starts to break down in 45 days. After 90 days, the straw is almost fully decomposed.
